Bio
About Marcus Gilbert...

Personal:
Born 29 July 1958 [Source: Marcus Gilbert]
Height: 6' 2" (1.88 m) [Source: IMDB]
Married with two children [Source: Marcus Gilbert]

Trained:
Mountview Drama Academy, London, graduated 1981. [Source: Mountview website, 2000 & 2007] Mountview's Alumni page currently lists Marcus as "Marcus Gilbert (1981) (Extensive TV and Film including Freebird)" [2008]

After training at the Mountview Theatre School, Marcus became a founder member of the original Odyssey Theatre Company touring London schools with productions of contemporary classics. This was followed by seasons at the Dundee Repertory Theatre and the Library Theatre, Manchester. [Source: Official programme of The Pleasure Principle, performed at New End Theatre, Hampstead, in 1989]

Other Activities:
Marcus formed his own production company, Touch The Sky Productions, so he could make travel and adventure documentaries. In 2005 he climed Mount Kilimanjaro with a cameraman, and in 2006 he is planning another climb in the High Andes of Peru. [Source: Marcus Gilbert]

Dundee Rep in Marcus' own words:
Dundee Rep was the first job I did, fresh out of drama school to spend the season in a little cottage in Fife. I remember being there over the winter trying to stay in bed for as long as possible to avoid scraping the ice off the inside of the cottage windows. So that was freezing during the day and the theatre in the evenings with those 3 plays.

That sounds soooo cold!

Marcus has had excellent training and experience. I wish promoters and agents would have him in more films and plays.

I'll be in England for the end of March and most of April 2006. If he's in anything during that time, I NEED to go!
